Off tomorrow to the Hilton London Antique Textile Fair . This is like visiting and being part of a museum. In one room you have never seen so many fantastic things most of which you can pick up and touch. Its always difficult choosing so I have packed a vast collection from Ethnic embroideries to silks and crewel embroideries from 18th century europe. I will post images on Monday of the fair.

carnelian trade beads

I have had great fun with a large collection of artisan and trade beads which I bought as a complete collection recently . They are really beautiful in their own individual shapes and sizes. Many of these beads are carnelian which is the most wonderful colour , rusty reds and browns, needless to say many have not gone for sale but have ended up in my own collection . S ome of these beads have considerable age and where used as trading beads , many are almost worn with use which makes them particularly special.

starting my blog again.....

At last I finally decided to work on my blog and add photos of all the beautiful textiles I have bought and seen in the last few months . So hope fully this time i will make myself keep this up.
